If you’ve been dreaming about the chance to experience Emirates First Class, there’s currently excellent availability for two people between Dubai and Washington Dulles, Houston and San Francisco.
Availability is good from August to November 2022. For example, when searching for a week-long round trip from Dulles to Dubai in September, here are the results with +/-3 flexibility:
Note that Emirates displays the total mileage and taxes cost for the entire trip for all passengers for whom you’ve searched. In the above example, 545,000 miles sounds pricey, but that’s because it appears to be pricing out at 136,250 miles per person each way, with taxes of $181.20 per person to Dubai and $219.47 per person back to the US.
My wife and I flew Emirates First Class from Chicago to Dubai in August last year. That was booked literally at the last minute and was on their 777-300 which meant we didn’t get the full First Class experience with showers. Most (or all) of these flights should be on their A380 which means you would get to have a shower in the sky, along with sleeping in their suites.
Although booking these awards via Emirates Skywards isn’t cheap, the ability to book these award flights is made easier by the fact that Emirates is a transfer partner of all the transferable currencies:
- American Express Membership Rewards
- Chase Ultimate Rewards
- Citi ThankYou
- Capital One
- Marriott Bonvoy
Most of those transferable currencies transfer instantly, with the definite exception being Marriott Bonvoy which can take ~3 days, although we don’t know how long transfers from Bilt take.
Considering how unusual it is to have this much First Class award availability, it’d be best to book ASAP if you’re interested in case it either all gets booked up or Emirates decides to turn off the tap.
